About the Real Mercedes-Benz G-Class Brabus

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class began life in 1979 as a military-derived utility 4×4 built in cooperation with Steyr-Daimler-Puch at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria. Stuttgart tuner Brabus has been converting G-Wagons since the 25th-anniversary models of 2004, evolving the platform through the W463 and current W465 generations with widebody kits, twin-turbo V8 upgrades, and bespoke interiors. The Brabus 800 Widestar — based on the AMG G63 — produces 800 horsepower from a tuned 4.0-litre biturbo V8 and is one of the most recognisable luxury SUV tuner builds on the market. Hand-finished in Bottrop, Germany, each Brabus G-Wagon retains the original ladder-frame chassis and three locking differentials of the donor vehicle.
