Ford F-250 — Brazilian Heavy-Duty Pickup Car Mod for PBS
Ford F-250 Brazilian Heavy-Duty Pickup Car Mod for Proton Bus Simulator
The Ford F-250 is the heavy-duty pickup that Ford do Brasil produced at the São Bernardo do Campo plant in São Paulo from 1999 to 2011 — the Brazilian-market revival of the F-Series Super Duty body for the local heavy-pickup category. While the American F-250 Super Duty competes in the towing-and-hauling segment with the Chevrolet Silverado HD and the Dodge RAM 2500, the Brazilian F-250 was tuned for unique local conditions and ran first the MWM Sprint and later the Cummins ISBe diesel engines instead of the American Power Stroke / Triton powertrains. This Proton Bus Simulator mod recreates the Brazilian F-250 with eight custom skins covering operator fleets, rural haulier liveries and personal builds.

About the Real Brazilian Ford F-250
The Brazilian Ford F-250 is the locally-assembled heavy-duty pickup that Ford do Brasil revived for the Brazilian market in 1999. The model name had previously been retired in Brazil in 1992 when Ford do Brasil discontinued the F-Series light-pickup family, but the 1999 revival positioned the F-250 specifically in the heavy-duty pickup category between the smaller Ranger and the medium-duty F-14000 / Cargo trucks. Engineering came from a mix of the American F-250 body shell and Brazilian-tuned powertrains — first the MWM Sprint 4.2-litre turbodiesel, then the Cummins ISBe 5.9-litre turbodiesel from 2005 onwards — paired with 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearboxes. The F-250 was assembled at Ford do Brasil's São Bernardo do Campo plant in São Paulo and was sold both as a single-cab and crew-cab pickup. Brazilian F-250 production ended in 2011 when Ford do Brasil moved production policy away from the heavy-pickup category; the slot was not filled by a successor model and Brazilian buyers seeking the same heavy-pickup category have to import the American Super Duty range.
