About the Real Mitsubishi Eclipse

The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a sport compact coupe produced across four generations from 1989 to 2012. Developed jointly with Chrysler under the Diamond-Star Motors partnership, the first two generations were assembled at the Normal, Illinois plant in the United States, with the high-performance GSX trim adding all-wheel drive and a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4G63T inline-four — the same engine family that powered the Lancer Evolution. Later generations shifted to a Chrysler PS platform, eventually becoming a softer GT cruiser.
