About the Real Chevrolet Prisma

The Chevrolet Prisma is a subcompact sedan developed by GM do Brasil as the three-box sedan counterpart to the Chevrolet Onix hatchback. Produced in Brazil at General Motors' Gravataí plant in Rio Grande do Sul, it was sold across Brazil and Latin America but never offered in the United States, making it a genuinely Brazilian-origin model. Powered by economical flex-fuel engines that run on both petrol and ethanol, the Prisma earned a reputation for low running costs, a generous trunk and dependable mechanicals — qualities that made it a favourite among taxi drivers and ride-hailing operators in Brazilian cities.
