The Fiat Marea Turbo is the sport-flagship of the Brazilian Marea lineup that Fiat do Brasil produced at the Betim plant in Minas Gerais from 1998 to 2007. While the standard Marea ran the 1.6 and 1.8 four-cylinder engines, the Marea Turbo was the Brazilian flagship and packed Fiat's 2.0-litre 20-valve five-cylinder turbocharged engine — the same Italian-imported five-pot that powered the Lancia Thesis and the Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TS. This Proton Bus Simulator mod recreates the Marea Turbo with five custom skins, three modeled mirrors, working sun visor and rain effect, and the manual transmission paired with the iconic five-cylinder turbo sound.

About the Real Fiat Marea Turbo

The Fiat Marea is a compact executive car produced by Fiat from 1996 to 2007 in Italy and from 1998 to 2007 at Fiat do Brasil's Betim plant in Minas Gerais. It was built on the Fiat Type 185 platform that also underpinned the Fiat Bravo, the Fiat Brava and the Lancia Lybra, and was offered as a 4-door sedan or a 5-door station wagon (Marea Weekend). The Marea Turbo is the sport-flagship of the Brazilian Marea lineup and the only Fiat sedan to run the Italian 2.0-litre 20-valve five-cylinder turbocharged engine in the Brazilian market — the same five-cylinder powerplant that Fiat used in the Lancia Thesis, the Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TS and the Coupé Fiat 20v Turbo. The Brazilian Marea Turbo originally ran a 182-horsepower variant of the engine and was paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. A 2002 facelift updated the front end with a chrome-bar grille and the rear with revised LED taillights. Brazilian production ended in 2007, with Fiat moving the executive-sedan slot to the Linea hatch-derived sedan for subsequent generations.
